Ken Shaw played reserve grade football for Carlton from 1948 to 1950.

Shaw was awarded the Reserves Best Clubman award in 1948, he followed this up the following year when he took out the Reserves Best and Fairest award.

He didn't manage to play a senior game for Carlton.

"Ken Shaw, brilliant twenty-five year old Sandhurst centreman, has been appointed coach of the Echuca Football Club for the coming season. Shaw, who is 5ft. 10.5 in. tall and weighs 12.6, has given Sandhurst a number of years' good service and has been a brilliant centreman. He has also had Melbourne League experience, having played a couple of games with Carlton."
