Bill Johnson played 7 games for Carlton in 1912, after playing in Queensland. He had also previously played with Essendon.

George Styles (recruited from Port Melbourne, Vic.) and Pat Ryan (recruited from Dookie, Vic.) were both born in Queensland.

After playing his first game, Ted Pollock went to Queensland before returning and playing his other 42 games between 1932 and 1937. Warren 'Wow' Jones (recruited from Castlemaine, Vic.) began his senior football career with the Morningside Football Club in Queensland before he started at Carlton. David Honybun also played football at Mackay in Queensland during his career.
