Carlton played the Maori team on May 25 1889 at the MCG and won easily.
O'Rorke played for Maoris in this match.
He was not named in the Maori side that played the Melbourne rugby club in an ealier match.

1889 June 15
O'Rourke made his debut in the match against North Melbourne at Arden Street.
The day before, Carlton's vice captain Bill Maloney was interviewed by The Herald about the match against North;
"Are we playing any new men? Well, I believe we will play Rourke. That is the man who has been playing the Australian game with Maoris. I think that he will give a really good account of himself."
(Herald June 14 p4)

1889 June 22
O'Rourke played in the match against St.Kilda on the MCG. This would be his last game for the Blues.

The Maoris team had toured the UK playing rugby and on the way back they played rugby and Australian Football in 9 matches in the southern states.
Did O'Rourke or Rourke make the trip to Britain, or was he added to the team to provide experience in the Australian game?
